What is Super Soil?
Super Soil is soil that contains both the proper nutrients, such as Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium, and an abundance of soil microbes. These beneficial soil microbes can be bacteria, fungi like mycorrhizae or Trichoderma, protozoa, or actinomycetes.
Required Nutrients in Super Soil
Years of scientific research has allowed scientists to categorize essential plant nutrients for most plants into three categories; primary nutrients, secondary nutrients and micro or trace nutrients.
Primary nutrients are carbon, nitrogen, hydrogen, oxygen, phosphorus, and potassium. In general, when adding primary nutrients growers talk about N,P,K (Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium) since the other primary elements are available from the air (carbon) or from water (Hydrogen and Oxygen). These nutrients can easily be added in organic form and many sources of organic NPK are available.
Secondary nutrients are generally needed in smaller amounts than the primary nutrients. Calcium, magnesium and sulfur are the secondary elements.
Micro or Trace Elements are generally needed in very small amounts, hence the name “micro”. The micro elements are Chlorine, Zinc, Manganese, Molybdenum, Iron and Copper.
Beneficial Microbes and Super Soil
Microbes improve soil quality in a number of ways including mineralization of nutrients, production of plant growth hormones, nitrogen fixation, phosphate solubilization to name just a few.
Plants grow best in living soil. That is soil that contains billions of living, microscopic organisms. The addition of soil amendments or biofertilizers containing beneficial soil microbes is needed to make a superior soil.
Custom Biologicals
CustomBio manufactures and distributes a number of biofertilizer, soil amendments and soil probiotics. These products can easily be added to the soil to make a supersoil. Additionally, biofertilizers can be added as a seed treatment, as a drench treatment, added at the time of planting or added during transplantation.
We have experience and we have products available to help farmers, growers, and greenhouse with a number of plants and vegetables. CustomBio can be reached at (561) 797-3008 or via email at Bill@Custombio.biz.
We’re always looking for new distributor opportunities both domestic and international. Contact us about these opportunities.
